Origin
Origin, composition and appearance
Smaala Bouchardé is offered as Moroccan stone. Quarry source, grade and finish are confirmed against the lot actually available from the supplier.
Its yellow or gold background shows a structured mineral surface. As with every natural stone, pattern density and shade vary from slab to slab.
Marble
From quarry block to installed piece
This natural stone is not manufactured like a composite surface. It is quarried and then processed for the project.
- 1
Block extraction
Blocks are quarried and sorted for structure, colour and consistency.
- 2
Slab sawing
Blocks are sawn into slabs. Depending on the stone, drying, filling or resin reinforcement may be applied.
- 3
Surface finish
The surface is calibrated and receives a bush-hammered finish for the required appearance and slip resistance.
- 4
Cutting and installation
The approved slab is cut to size, edge-finished, transported and installed with joints and treatments suited to the Marrakech project.
Strengths
- Decorative natural veining with a strong identity.
- Can be repolished or crystallised when correctly installed.
- Particularly suitable for floors, walls, bathrooms and stairs.
Points to consider
- Calcareous stone that is sensitive to lemon, vinegar and acids.
- May scratch, stain or lose polish without suitable care.
- Veining and microfissures require approval of the actual slab.

Our advice before ordering
Always approve the actual slab. Two lots sold under the same name may differ in shade, veining, microfissures and porosity. We also confirm thickness, finish, treatment and intended use before quoting.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is Smaala Bouchardé suitable for a kitchen?
This is not our first choice for a heavily used worktop. We prefer it for the applications listed on this page.
Is Smaala Bouchardé suitable outdoors?
Yes, with a slip-resistant finish and prior validation of porosity, treatment and exposure.
How should Smaala Bouchardé be maintained?
Use only a pH-neutral cleaner. Remove lemon, vinegar and acidic products immediately, and renew impregnation when the slab test indicates it.
The stated properties are selection guidance. The lot data sheet and inspection of the actual slab take precedence.
