Origin

Origin, composition and appearance

Delicatus is a trade name generally associated with quarries in Brazil. Country, quarry and grade are still checked against the lot available in Morocco before ordering.

Its white or ivory background shows a contrasting crystalline grain. As with every natural stone, pattern density and shade vary from slab to slab.

Granite

From quarry block to installed piece

This natural stone is not manufactured like a composite surface. It is quarried and then processed for the project.

  1. 1

    Block extraction

Blocks are quarried and sorted for structure, colour and consistency.

  2. 2

    Slab sawing

Blocks are sawn into slabs. Depending on the stone, drying, filling or resin reinforcement may be applied.

  3. 3

    Surface finish

The surface is calibrated and receives a polished or honed finish for the required appearance and slip resistance.

  4. 4

    Cutting and installation

The approved slab is cut to size, edge-finished, transported and installed with joints and treatments suited to the Marrakech project.

Strengths

  • Very good resistance to everyday abrasion and scratching.
  • Low absorption in many varieties and straightforward care.
  • Suitable for worktops, busy floors and outdoor projects.

Points to consider

  • Heavy material that requires more demanding cutting and fabrication.
  • Joints, edges and cut-outs require suitable professional tools.
  • Colour and structure vary; some slabs receive resin treatment.

Our advice before ordering

Always approve the actual slab. Two lots sold under the same name may differ in shade, veining, microfissures and porosity. We also confirm thickness, finish, treatment and intended use before quoting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Delicatus suitable for a kitchen?

Yes. This reference is shortlisted for worktops, subject to approval of the slab, treatment and edge details.

Is Delicatus suitable outdoors?

Yes, with a slip-resistant finish and prior validation of porosity, treatment and exposure.

How should Delicatus be maintained?

Use a pH-neutral cleaner, wipe coloured spills promptly and follow the lot-specific sealing recommendation. Avoid direct thermal shock.

The stated properties are selection guidance. The lot data sheet and inspection of the actual slab take precedence.
